A Journey of Renewal and Transformation

The retreat will combine Hawaiian cultural practices, wellness, and mindfulness with a bit of adventure. Global yoga and fitness instructor, author, and speaker, Desi Bartlett will guide you through daily yoga practices to feel strong, safe, and supported in your body. With over 25 years of experience in the health & wellness industry and a long list of A-list celebrity clients, Desi is passionate about sharing the joy of movement.

A sprawling 2700-acre private ranch on the North Shore of Oahu will be the backdrop. An elegant, historic ranch estate will provide comfortable sleeping accommodations with 8 bedrooms, 6 private rooms each with a Queen bed, and 2 shared rooms each with two twin beds. All meals will be prepared by a culinary team and served outdoors among the giant palms looking out over the mountain range.  As The Coconut Traveler strives to reduce the overall footprint in travel, this event includes a carbon off-set.

Mornings will include your opportunity to embrace the sunrise with a guided meditation practice. You'll bask in the radiance and warmth of the sunlight while creating a deep connection to your breath that sets your intention and supports your mindfulness as you start your day.  Freely contribute to the health and wellness of the planet each day with good intentions. Meditations will be led by Dr. Thao Le, a specialist in mindfulness training at the University of Hawaii.

Meals will feature the freshest and best, local ingredients thoughtfully prepared for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, designed to support a plant-based diet for your optimum health.  You will have access to a juice bar featuring fresh, local fruit quite literally taking in the aloha spirit as you nourish your body.

This special retreat includes scheduled activities such as Forest Bathing or Shirin-Yoku, a form of therapeutic nature therapy, guided yoga at a private lake, a guided paddle on standup or kayak to an outlying island off the shores of East Oahu, daily guided hiking on the ranch, an exercise class, a guided hike to a waterfall, and a scheduled massage session with local practitioners.

During your leisure time, you may choose to explore the island, take a jog along the beach, or bicycle ride to take in the local scene.  Add-ons include adventure opportunities such as sky diving, a helicopter tour with a cliff-side landing, or swimming with sharks along-side a world-renown conservationist.

Plenty of “me time” will be available for journaling, reading, sunbathing, long walks, and swimming; the warm waters of the Pacific can help wash away stress and tension and reconnect you with a feeling of celebration and adventure.  We encourage you to personalize the experience so that you honor your unique path to renewal.

Each evening, special guests will enjoy learning Hawaiian culture from Hawaii’s kumu (teachers) in the areas of history and legends, hula (dance), and mele (song), ho’oponopono, the traditional practice of forgiveness, and lā’au lapa’au, the traditional medical practice adopted by native Hawaiians for treating, healing, or curing ailments and injuries with native plants and herbs.

A festive dinner will be specially prepared with aloha by Chef Mavro, Hawaii’s most recent winner of the prestigious James Beard Award for Best Chef Pacific Northwest/Hawaii and recognized by Wine Spectator.  And the final night's dinner will include a relaxed, traditional barbecue on the beachside under the stars.
